Kill These Roaches & Cockroaches!
American Roaches are pictured here. This is one of the largest of the common roaches found in the U.S. It often obtains a length of 1 1/2 inches. The American roach is a strong flier and both sexes have fully developed wings. Food storage and preparation areas, such as restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and houses, are often infested.
The female roach can produce 6-14 egg capsules in one mating season. These capsules contain from 10 to 16 eggs each. Incubation for the roach eggs varies from 38 to 49 days, after which the young nymphs hatch.
German Roaches pictured here are small, light-colored roaches with the two prominent dark streaks on the thorax are perhaps the most common household pest today. The German roach is more active, produces more eggs and grows faster than other common roaches. The female German roach can produce four or five egg capsules containing up to 50 eggs each which hatch in about 2 weeks. The nymphs mature into adults in 60-65 days. The life cycle lasts 3 months or less.
The Common American Cockroach pictured here is also known as the Palmetto Bug or Waterbug. American cockroach adults grow to an average length of around 4 centimetres (1.6 in) and about 7 millimetres (0.28 in) tall. American cockroaches usually live in moist areas, but can survive in dry areas if they have access to water. They prefer warm temperatures around 29 °C (84 °F) and do not tolerate cold temperatures. In residential areas, these cockroaches live in basements and sewers, and may move outdoors into yards during warm weather. These cockroaches are commonly found in basements, crawl spaces, cracks and crevices of porches, foundations, and walkways adjacent to buildings. They have been known to fly during mating season The American cockroach is a scavenger that feeds on decaying organic matter and a variety of other foods. It is particularly fond of fermenting foods
German Cockroaches pictured here, Croton bug or Steam fly is a small species of cockroach, measuring about 1.3 cm (0.51 in) to 1.6 cm (0.63 in) long. It can be tan through brown to almost black in color, and has two dark parallel streaks running from the head to the base of the wings. Although German Cockroaches have wings, they can not fly.
Oriental Cockroaches pictured here, is also known as the waterbug and Blatta orientalis. Oriental Cockroaches are a large species of cockroach, measuring about 1 in (2.5 cm) in length at maturity. It is dark brown to black in colour and has a glossy body. The female Oriental cockroach has a different appearance than the male, she has two very short and useless wings just below its head that you probably wouldn't even see. It also has a wider body than the male.
Roaches and Cockroaches,refer to the same family of bug. They are nocturnal insects that infest especially warm climates like the southern United States.
